Qatar Airways still planning second Kenya destination
Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Akbar Al Baker when answering questions at
a recent press conference clearly stated that Qatar Airways continued to have an
interest in flying to Mombasa. This after the Kenyan government of the day withheld
traffic rights to the airline at the 11th-hour prompting the airline to indefinitely
postpone plans to add its second destination in Kenya.
He was however swift to acknowledge that incumbent President Uhuru Kenyatta
has expressed a keen interest to resolve issues, and would welcome the launch of
Qatar Airways flights to Mombasa.
